HOUSTON, July 7, 2022 /3BL Media/ –Tellurian Inc. (Tellurian) (NYSE American: TELL) and Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) announced that Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract by Driftwood Pipeline LLC, a subsidiary of Tellurian Inc., to provide Integrated Compression Line (ICL) technology and turbomachinery equipment for Lines 200 and 300, a natural gas transmission project, proposed to be located in the parishes of Beauregard and Calcasieu , in southwestern Louisiana.

Tellurian President and CEO Octávio Simões said, “This flagship project and technology will eliminate nearly all emissions from the proposed project, which Tellurian is developing to supply natural gas to an area of limited capacity. We value Baker Hughes’ expertise and look forward to partnering to provide cleaner solutions for an energy-hungry world.

Tellurian is doing its part by making this initial $240 million investment as part of the broader Driftwood Pipeline System, which will provide improved supply reliability to meet the region’s anticipated industrial growth in a cleaner and more more sustainable.

This contract marks the first time that Baker Hughes will install its ICL decarbonization technology for pipeline compression in North America. The project will initially include four 19 megawatt (MW) ICL compressors and other turbomachinery equipment for a total of four compressor trains, as well as an LM6000PF+ gas turbine for emergency power for the initial phase of the project. pipeline at the Indian Bayou Compressor Station in Driftwood.

“Our customers around the world are now pushing for decarbonization solutions, especially as they look to ensure both energy security and a more sustainable natural gas supply in the years to come,” Rod said. Baker Hughes’ extensive portfolio of technologies helps reduce the carbon footprint throughout the natural gas supply chain, a critical path for the energy transition. The Built-in zero-emission ICL compressor offers a smaller footprint and weight, as well as improved operational flexibility and availability compared to conventional electric motor trains. Although this project marks the first US application of the technology, more than 50 units have been deployed, primarily in Europe, in a variety of applications including pipelines and offshore. The compressors are constructed with a hermetically sealed casing ensuring zero emissions and require minimal downtime due to magnetic bearings for more efficient oil-free operations and reduced maintenance while improving reliability.
