Qube realizes the Western Outer Ring Main project

Supply chain logistics provider Qube Energy worked with Bao Australia to deliver over 51 kilometers of pipe for the Western Outer Ring Main project.

The Western Outer Ring Main project is a 51 kilometer long buried high pressure gas transmission pipeline which will provide a new connection between existing pipelines at Plumpton in the western suburbs of Melbourne and Wollert to the north.

The project includes the delivery of 2,883 lengths of pipe, which is equivalent to approximately 7,168 tonnes of steel.

The large stack of pipes is currently at Qube Energy’s site in Melbourne and will be delivered to APA’s stock in Laverton by 300 trucks.

The project also includes an upgrade of the existing compressor station at Wollert.

Additionally, Qube is joining the non-profit industry initiative, Transafe WA, as a safety partner and will also contribute to the Instruckta safety truck project.
