Enbridge advances gas pipeline construction

Enbridge Inc. is pleased to announce the progress of its Venice expansion project and its Gator express meter project to deliver 1.5 billion feet3/d of natural gas at Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG facility located in Plaquemines Parish, LA.

Projects will typically involve additions and upgrades to 36 inch diameter pipes, metering and compressor stations. The Gator Express Meter project is expected to be commissioned in 2023 and the Venice Extension project is expected to be commissioned in 2024, with an estimated cost for both projects of US$400 million, which is based on contracts long-term outright purchase.

“Enbridge is excited to continue working with Venture Global on its second LNG project to bring clean, reliable natural gas to the U.S. Gulf Coast for export to global markets,” said Cynthia Hansen, Executive Vice President of Enbridge and President, Gas Transmission & Midstream. “Our Texas Eastern system is uniquely positioned to supply growing North American LNG exports, which are critical to meeting the company’s energy security and climate change goals.
